This ethics workshop will present attendees with an overview of ethics, ethical guidelines, principles, and codes, ethical decision making models, dilemmas and current practices, and supervision practices. Attendees will be exposed to common ethical dilemmas and a case study to incorporate the presentation’s information.

This workshop is approved for 3 hours in Ethics by LCA and LABSWE.

A brief introduction to mindfulness and its importance in cultivating therapeutic presence. Participants will practice simple mindfulness exercises and discuss clinical application of mindfulness skills for a variety of clients.

This three hour presentation will focus on the DBT five skill areas. Cases will be used to illustrate concepts. Audience participation will be encouraged. Skills will be taught that can be integrated into therapists existing practices. A handout will be provided.

This workshop will cover Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorders by defining each disorder, and exploring common client characteristics, available assessments, preferred therapist characteristics, intervention strategies, and treatment planning.
