Among the many services offered by JFS, are several therapeutic, psychoeducational, social skills, and support groups designed to help individuals and families cope with various life challenges.

Beginning in January

Support Group for Mothers of School Age Children with Down Syndrome

January 25, 2018 to March 8, 2018

12:30pm – 2:00pm

Cost: $40 (includes initial assessment)

This group is designed to provide therapeutic support and education to develop coping skills for common stressors of mothers with children diagnosed with Down syndrome.  Participants will meet for six weeks at our Metairie location.  Pre-registration is required.

Beginning in February

Making Meaning of Loss

February 21, 2018 to March 28, 2018

4:30pm- 6:00pm

Cost: $40 (includes initial assessment)

Participants will explore grief experiences, develop coping skills, and learn to incorporate grief into their lives.  This group is for individuals who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. Pre-registration is required

Girl Power on the Northshore

February 21, 2018 to March 28, 2018

4:30pm- 6:30pm

Cost: $240 (includes initial assessment) sliding fee scale based on income is available

For girls, ages 8 to 13, who want to increase their self-confidence, learn to cope with stress, and improve their social skills. This program is being provided in out Northshore location (1350 Park Drive, Suite B, Mandeville, LA 70471). Pre-registration is required
