The content explores how attachment needs evolve across the lifespan—from childhood caregivers to the adult “Secure Base” provided by romantic partners. Motonormativity is examined as a dominant cultural script and explores the historical and economic drivers behind the emergence of ENM. We focus on the therapist’s role as a “Secure Base” for the client. The “No-Secrets” policy and the “Shared Agency” principles are designed to strengthen the therapeutic alliance in complex systems. Appraisal of the individual is addressed through the Poly-Map Case Formulation and the HEARTS Audit.
