No. While the foundation of the organization is based upon Jewish values, Jewish Family Service is a “whole person environment,” serving Greater New Orleans regardless of race, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation.

+- Do you take walk-ins?

No, please call (504) 831-8475 first to make an appointment.

+- How do I get to the JFS office?

+- Does JFS prescribe medication?

No — there is currently no Psychiatrist on staff.

+- Does JFS accept Medicare?

JFS accepts Medicare for counseling services in some circumstances. You can check your coverage by calling the JFS office at (504) 831-8475.

+- Does JFS accept Medicaid?

JFS now accepts Medicaid from Aetna Better Health, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, and United Healthcare. We also accept a Medicaid waiver for the Lifeline program.

+- Does JFS accept insurance?

JFS accepts the following insurance plans for counseling services: Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Blue Connect, Gilsbar, and Tricare

+- Does JFS offer a sliding-fee scale?

Yes, most services at JFS are offered on a sliding-fee scale based on household income.

+- How do I make an appointment?
