Cancellation Policy: Registrants may receive a full refund up to 10 calendar days prior to the CEU event, after which time no refunds will be issued. Registrants who cancel up to 48 hours prior to a workshop may receive a credit towards a future workshop (minus a $10 cancellation fee), good for one year from date of cancellation. This lecture will consist of a discussion about gaps in the current standards of care in mental health as it relates to medication management. It will explore new medications that have been recently approved as well as medications that are currently going through the approval processes. This will include discussions on topics such as “psychadelics in psychiatry,” pharmacogenic testing, and others. Dr. Thomas Maestri PharmD, BCPP is a native of New Orleans and a 2014 graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) College of Pharmacy. He is one of only three board-certified psychiatric clinical pharmacy specialists (BCPP) in Louisiana. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Xavier University of LA College of Pharmacy and holds a gratis appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the LSU Health Science Center Department of Psychiatry. In his role, he offers didactic, research, and experiemental learning opportunities to Xavier College of Pharmacy students, pharmacy residents, LSU Psychiatry residents, Tulane Psychiatry residents and XULA physician’s assistant program students. His educational focus is on pharmcologic treatment of mental health and addictive disorders as well as pharmacy ethics.
