Since 1948, JFS has served as a safety net for the Greater New Orleans area, with a special focus on vulnerable members of the Jewish community. Our holistic approach to caretaking allows people of all faiths and identities to find well-being and self-sufficiency. This necessary work, which happens in our Counseling, Case Management, Financial Resource Center, Senior Services, Teen Life Counts, and Nuevo Comienzo programs, is made possible through donors like you. Your support is even more important during times of crisis.

After natural disasters and unprecedented events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, JFS is able to maintain and enhance our essential and life-saving work to meet the needs of the day. A rainy-day fund, such as our JFS Legacy Fund, is paramount to such flexibility. Our Legacy Fund ensures that not only will JFS sustain our caretaking role, but that your legacy is the crucial work of our mission. Join us as a caretaker of the Greater New Orleans community and ensure that future generations have a place to turn when they are in need, no matter what happens.

To build your legacy with JFS, visit the Jewish Endowment Foundation’s website to make a donation. JEF manages and invests our Legacy Fund, guaranteeing needed support when disaster or misfortune strike our community. Type “JFS Legacy Fund” in the comment field. You can also mail a check to:
